First food

So this past weekend Elliot experienced her first solid food - rice cereal...mmmm.... She seemed to get the hang of the spoon in the mouth part, but wasn't so sure about the actual food part. Would you be if you had to eat runny rice cereal?? Anyway, she did great and we have also introduced bananas, which she is still a little apprehensive about as well. Here is a shot taken after her first "meal"

Hanging Chads!!!

That's right everybody, we have a new winner! So it turns out that there was some miscommunication between Hope (the photographer) and the guy who runs her website and they accidentally posted the wrong winner. She called the next day and told us the good news! She said that Elliot won by a lot, so thanks to everyone who voted. Apparently, the demand for a recount was well worth it... (in all honesty, no demand was made) We now get a free photo shoot which Mark wants to use on himself, he says he has some good ideas involving dolphins and a mermaid. I guess the next step is to enter Elliot in one of those toddler beauty pageants, so if anyone has a bedazzler, I'm in the market (not really)

Heartbreaker...

Well, I have some very disappointing news... Elliot did not win the photo contest :( I know, I know the winner must have cheated to beat our precious Ellie. Mark and I discussed contacting Hope and demanding an investigation into the polling process; however, we feel that this is a good opportunity to teach Elliot some valuable lessons.
#1 Beauty doesn't get you everything in life.
#2 Life isn't always fair. (Because let's be honest, fair would have been that the cutest picture won and that was obviously Elliot's photo)

Oh well, life goes on. Most importantly, thanks for voting and the encouraging words. It is fun to see how many "Ellie fans" there are out there!
