Lindsay Ables. I should have made a New Year's resolution to keep up with the blog. I really am touched by the pleas to update pictures of Elliot and fill everyone in on what it going on at the Ables house, I just need to sit down and do it! Prior to Elliot, Mark and I were horrible picture takers...we just never thought to bring our camera places or neither one of us wanted to keep up with it (I know it's terrible). We always joked that our children would not believed we had a life before they were born. We have gotten better about taking pictures of Elliot, but it looks like the inconsistency has now transferred over to the blog. Plus, part of the time I feel like I have nothing witty or sentimental to write so I skip it all together. However, I will make a concerted effort to blog regularly, even if it just means posting some pictures. Hold me to it!
Okay, so a little update with what has been happening at the Ables household. Elliot will be 3 months old on Thursday! She has been so much fun. She began sleeping through the night regularly at 7-8 weeks. And around 10 weeks, we began putting her down after her 7ish p.m. feeding and she sleeps until 7 a.m. - talk about wonderful! During playtime, Ellie loves to play with her hands and kick. Her two favorite things to do are to stand (with our help :)) and to talk. Boy, does Ellie love to babble. She squeals, coos, and downright talks to you - you just don't know what she is saying.
This past weekend we went to a Wyldlife weekend at Camp St. Christopher and Ellie did great. She slept in her pack and play and hung out with the big kids. I didn't know if a new place and a somewhat hindered schedule would make for a fussy child, but she was an angel and slept wonderfully. Today, is a big day for the Ables clan. I am leaving for Philadelphia this afternoon and will be gone until Thursday. This will be my first grand opening trip since she was born. It will definitely be hard being away from my sweet girl, but I am excited to see some of my work colleagues that I haven't seen since the summer. She will be hanging with Mimi and Poppa during the day and Mark will pick her up after work. I have been busy making sure everything is ready while I am away, but I am extremely blessed to have a job where I am at home for 80% of the time and only away a short bit. In fact, I need to wrap this up and finishing organizing...I will post more pictures next week...
Some other milestones have been:
She rolled over just this morning from her stomach to her back. Twice, I might add.
She laughed. Some big, hearty laughs! We were looking in the mirror one evening last week and I was opening and closing my hands and she just started laughing. I called for Mark and he ran in the room and she kept laughing - it was the best!
When she is laying on her back she is really trying to pull her neck up like she wants to sit up. I have put her in the Bumbo sitter a few times and she does pretty well.
She really loves her mom and dad. She looks for us when she hears our voice and we share smiles a lot :)
